A Portrait Shoot - Rosie

Last Autumn, I was approached by a lovely lady called Rosie. She wanted a photo shoot so she could give some photographs to her children for Christmas.

This always makes me so happy. I am always telling people they should exist in printed photographs, not just online. I truly believe photographs are the most treasured possession we own. The next generation are in danger of losing their family history, if they aren’t careful, when thousands of photographs and special memories are lost in cyber space, or forgotten on hard drives nobody can find.

To make the experience extra special, I suggested she worked with a professional hair and makeup artist. I always recommend Nisha Rajput because she is so good at putting clients at ease, and a delight to work with. You can find out more Nisha on her Facebook page: Nisha Rajput

As well as being a special Christmas gift, it was a great chance for Rosie to showcase her work. She sells beautiful Danish clothes from Friendtex. She always has several rails of clothes, so she has plenty to choose from! I find them quite hard to resist! If you are interested in finding out more, you can see Rosie’s Facebook page here: Rosie’s Fashions

We did the shoot at Rosie’s beautiful home in Goring on Thames. We started the shoot indoors, shooting in Rosie’s cosy living room. Then she changed outfits and we went out into her lovely garden. I am a huge fan of shooting outdoors, not only can you get results in the outside light, but nature provides some beautiful backdrops.

When the shoot finished Rosie had a good selection of images to choose from. These are some of her favourites.

She said we made her feel like a princess and she had thoroughly enjoyed herself:

Tara has a wonderfully warm personality. She has such a great gift for putting people at their ease, and a thoroughly professional technique - producing superb results and making them easily accessible.” Rosie Mortimer
